In 2021, Kat launched #chitownscreenwriting as inclusive space for screenwriters and creatives to connect and hone their craft. This pandemic recovery platform embraced a cultural collaborative mindset that transcended geography and brought together content creators from around the world, throughout the industries of entertainment, education, entrepreneurship, art and activism. Through weekly conversations with content creators to share wisdom, experience, writing prompts, tips, tricks, strategies and free lessons in the art and craft of writing, getting published, and produced -- Kat and her late producing partner, Tamika J. Spaulding, leveraged the project's immediate momentum to build pathways to platforms for underrepresented voices to tell their stories and engage with their audiences. Plans for a Substack newsletter and podcast devoted to regenerative creative community are forthcoming in 2024.
